FCT's exciting 2008-2009 season promises to have something for everyone!

THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
August 1-3, 8-10. Friday and Saturdays at 8:00 pm; and Sundays at 2:00 pm
Directed by Kaichen McRae
Three guys (or girls) attempt to perform all of Shakespeare in about 90 minutes. The show opens with Romeo and Juliet, then moves through Titus Andronicus as a cooking program, Othello as a rap, the comedies (all combined into a single play), the histories as a football game, and many more. The second act is the grand production of Hamlet, involving temper tantrums, audience participation, and a grand finale – performing it backwards.


A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum a Musical
October 3-5, 10-12, 17-19

Book by Burt Shelove and Larry Gelbart; Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
An adult musical comedy, “Forum” is based on the plays of Plautus, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart. This bawdy story finds a slave named Pseudolus trying to gain his freedom by helping his master, Hero, attract the attention of one of the courtesans, Philia. A comedy of errors sets loose, with a series of mistaken identities paving the way for a hysterical comic love story. Songs from the show include “Comedy Tonight,” “Everybody Ought to Have a Maid,” and “Bring Me My Bride.”


The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

In Barbara Robinson's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, kids from the wrong side of the tracks learn more about Christmas than they counted on when they hijack a local church's nativity production and steal all the major parts. A family production that's not to be missed!


Mousetrap

Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap is one of the mystery writer’s most famous plays and holds the record as the longest running play in history, opening in 1952. Newlyweds Mollie and Giles Ralston have opened up a new hotel in the converted Monkswell Manor. They, their four guests and an additional traveler who ran his car into a snowdrift, are snowed in. Detective Sergeant Trotter arrives on skis to inform the group that he believes a murderer is on his way to the hotel, following the death of Miss Maureen Lyon in London. When one of the guests, Mrs. Boyle, is killed, everyone realizes the murderer is already there, and it quickly transpires that the killer could be anyone stranded in the house.


Moon Over Buffalo

George and Charlotte Hay have unwillingly come to the twilight of their theatrical careers in a quaint Buffalo theater. Currently the company is performing "Cyrano de Bergerac" and "Private Lives" in repertory. After learning that the famous Hollywood director, Frank Capra, is coming to give George one final shot at stardom, miscommunication ensues and the hilarity begins. A romp through the thrill-a-minute lifestyle of the theatrical world.


Annie Get Your Gun a Musical

Music by Herbert & Dorothy Fields; Music and Lyrics by Irving Berlin.
When Buffalo Bills Wild West Show comes to town, Annie Oakley quickly falls in love with the show's sharpshooter, Frank Butler. Annie Oakley who is "Only Doin' What Comes Naturally" does not portray the feminine side of "The Girl That I Marry" must for Frank Butler. Annie determined to win over Frank joins the cast of the show. And win she is challenged to a sharpshooting contest against Frank, she lets him win to gain his heart. In the end love is triumphant. After all "There Is No Business Like Show Business"!
